Elkins was a major yard at the time and worked closely with the Laurent Giles design office building most of the UK Vertues.
Jack Laurent Giles and his staff were one of the big players in yacht design at the time with many famous designs to their name including some seriously big yachts and some successful racers.
One of many centre-board yachts designed by Laurent Giles this is a fine big boat, generous free-board, sharp stem gently flaired to throw the water clear and the squarish stern typical of Laurent Giles race yachts and fast cruisers at the time.
In a letter dated July 1979 from Laurent Giles to the previous owner, they state that this is a unique boat.... a one-off.....extremely well built ... attractive to the man who appreciates real quality and pedigree. Quite a recommendation!
