Its a very stable boat with an easily driven hull seating 3 persons comfortably. It has a heavy retractable centre-plate and up to 250kgs of removeable ballast.

The original boat mould was taken from a 1911 seeking boat hull found on the banks of the river Fowey. It had originally operated taking pilots out to the larger ships waiting in the Bristol channel estuary. There is much interesting history associated with the Tela.
It is a quality made, low maintenance craft easily towed on its trailer behind a family car. The boat has had just one owner from new (23 years). Built in 2002 by Salterns Boatyard. Kingfishers home is on fresh water on the Norfolk Broads and overwintered in a dry barn every year November to April, hence it is all in very good condition. The internal wooden brightwork is varnished mahogany and all fittings are bronze. Buoyancy is built in. The hull was also coated below the waterline in epoxy prior to antifouling.
It is a fun family boat and has sailed across Scotland coast to coast 4 times on a sail and oar raid and has also participated in the Semaine du Golfe French sailing festival twice. There are several Youtube videos available to view this boat in action. Classic Boat magazine did an article when it was first marketed. Since then its had three more features in Watercraft magazine over the years with Kingfisher in full colour and on the front cover. So as Tela's go its quite a well-known boat! It is currently out of the water in the barn.
The price includes good sails, including topsail. Galvanised Bramber trailer in good condition (bearings too are good) comes with spare wheel and a cover, set of oars with various fenders and a Mariner 3.3 hp outboard and its ready to go.
