Tilapia is a Custom Wooden Cruiser that was built in Upton, Poole in 1963. She's a carvel-built wooden twin-screw motor cruiser, driven by two independent diesel engines. Including a short boarding platform at the stern, her overall dimensions are length 40', beam 13' 6", draft 3' 9". The hull is, to owner's knowledge, sound throughout but the superstructure does need work. The late owner often commented on how reliable the engines are. Alando CK178, a Colchester Sailing Smack ex registered fishing vessel/work boat Built by the renowned barge and smack builders of their day, the Aldous Brothers of Brightlingsea. Steam Tug which has been in our family since the 70's. She has been featured in the Steam Boat Assoc. publication "The Funnel"a number of times. Engine dates from before 1900 and had Stephenson linkage added at later stage for forward and reverse. Selling due to lack of time and other projects, it would be great to get her back on the water.
