Widgeon, built in 1901 as a Gaff Cutter in Southampton by Fay's to a J.M Soper design. She has been in her present ownership for over 40years, used as a family cruising yacht. Making passages around the UK, Ireland, Northern France both sides of the North Sea, in to the Baltic, the Netherlands.
She was converted to carry a Bermudan rig in 1956.
A Carvel planked hull of Teak, above the waterline, a Pitch Pine planked, underwater hull. Laid teak decks.
She came ashore some years ago and has since been stored in a dry Farm Barn.

Enter in via companionway steps, the galley portside, opposite Navigation station,
with Pilot berth running aft under the cockpit.
Sink, Gas hob, oven and grill, pressurised Cold water tap from tank, Hot water when available from engine.
Professionally built in lockers, drawers and shelving throughout .
Three berths in the saloon, the lower settee berths pull out, to make them wider.
A drop leaf dining table in the centre. A charcoal stove attached to the forward bulk head.
A Brass lantern hung over the table, sited under a butterfly glazed hatch illuminates the saloon.
Portside forward a separate heads compartment, with a drop down wash basin and a Jabsco sea toilet. A privacy door can close off the forward cabin.
In the forepeak, a wet locker and sail stowage bin, a fore hatch to the fore deck with a notched pillar access ladder. Chain locker in the forepeak ( hawse pipe)
two single "V" berths with an infill (if required.) 2 x Galvanised water tanks under these berths. All berth cushions vinyl covered.
12 v cabin lighting lamps, small fluorescent strips, small LED battery lights.
2 x wooden gas bin lockers on the aft deck.
6 x bronze opening portlights. Butterfly glazed hatch in the coach roof. Glass deck light prisms. Loose planked pine cabin sole.
She is a very substantial vessel.
A carvel planked hull of Pitch Pine on Oak frames, Teak laid decks, generous side decks. There are signs of fresh water ingress on the inside of the hull, in the heads compartments metal deck knees, under the deck (no substrate)
A deep open aft cockpit with a fixed shelter coach roof at the entrance doors to the accommodation. Standing headroom of 6ft through out the accommodation.
Tiller steering. Rudder blade badly opened up.
Long keel with lead ballast keel.
Hull painted topsides antifouling and boot top.
Decks have been left natural scrubbed teak, Much of the cockpit and interior has old varnish/ wood staining throughout. Internal cabin sides painted out.
Aft section of main cabin was reconfigured in the mid 1950's when she was re rigged to a Bermudan Cutter. Epoxy clothed and painted coach roof inside.
