Built in 1955, we believe the first to be built of the seven Tom Pudding Tugs. Built by Camplings of Goole. Length 48ft x 14.6ft and has a Lister Blackstone air start engine. There is also an original Jabus which went behind the tug and in front of the Tom Puddings. . There is a complete set at the Yorkshire Waterways Museum, in Goole but this could be your own bit of history. The owner has loads of photos and history on the tug. Well worth a look!! First owner of this Bakdekker, which is in a glorious state, was Mr. S.P. de Boer. Teacher at the nautical college in Groningen.
He had the boat built from an inheritance. The name "OMAR" 'inheritance obtained or won' refers to this.
The ship has been built once by the Barkmeijer Brothers from Stroobos, Groningen. Probably a drawing of Shipyard Langeberg from Heerenveen was used.
The original A-Ford engine was replaced in 2000 by a modern Volvo Penta. The ... read more

Yachting Brokers are pleased to present a beautiful 1923 classic motor yacht that has been lovingly restored. Registered on the National Historic Ships, she was built to private order in 1923 and subsequently purchased by the post office to operate in the Shetland Isles. Built in 1953 and hung on the port side of the Royal Yacht Britannia, she is half way through restoration and can be bought as such. She has all her original fittings and engine cover and original Perkins P4M with Centrifugal Gearbox and solid bronze Tiller arm. She has been stripped back to her original Honduras Mahogany which is double diagonal with canvas between the mahogany. James Miller built many fishing boats at his yard in St Monance on the Fife coast, the largest over 70′.
